We haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on our list.

About Nick Jones

After quitting his job as an IT consultant for a global storage provider and travelling the world Nick is not quite sure if he will ever want to go back to a 9-5 again. Nicks passion and determination to be a successful property investor has put him in control of his time and finances. No longer does he have to sit at a desk as an employee whilst the employer reaps the riches. In his free time he likes to rock climb and enjoys eating at good restaurants and avoiding cooking at all costs.

Best anniversary ever?

Waking up to the view of a fisherman 2 meters behind our camper was new to us. We watched him for a while and it seemed the fish were very good at taking his bait and not getting hooked, however he was probably just ripping their mouth apart by how hard he was yanking the rod each time he got a nibble. It has to be said that Hayley is very good at throwing me off the scent of what we was doing tod [...]

Six free things to do in Sydney

There is no mistaking it, we are cheap skates and don’t like paying for anything. When we was in Las Vegas we loved the Las Vegas app because there was a “freeloader” section and we literally just ticked it all off like a list and it really helped us out. Arriving in Sydney we knew that we was on a tight budget for the 27 days we have in Australia so couldn’t do some of the ‘must do’ attractions l [...]

A Glowworm Enlightenment

Getting ready by stealth so the creepy hostel owner would not see us leave back fired, the guy is everywhere. Fortunately we got away without having to give him a step by step account of what we planned to do today and was on our way on what was going to be a very long day in the car with the magical Waitomo Glowworm Caves to break up the drive. The cost of entry is £25 per person, which on a back [...]

£20,000 Later – How far has it gotten us?

This post is a little over due because we hit the £20,000 spend a few weeks ago after leaving Singapore. I also believe this post will be quite controversial as a ‘proper traveller’ could quite easily make the £20,000 go a lot further. Since day one we’ve kept track of every penny we’ve spent, from buying a carton of milk to each nights accommodation. So it’s quite easy for us to pull this all fro [...]

Hobbits for the day

I was really looking forward to today, we was going to visit Hobbiton, the most recognisable set from the Lord of the Rings. We was booked on the 1PM showing but got delayed leaving our hotel, and the 2 hours drive was a peddle to the metal thrash to get there on time. Fortunately we made it, so what can you expect from a tour of Hobitton? It all started when Peter Jackson was flying over the nort [...]

Wanaka, what a cracka

Waking up right next to one of the most beautiful lakes in New Zealand was a real treat this morning, it was somewhat distorted by the amount of condensation on the windows but still beautiful. It was dark when we arrived here yesterday so I quickly grabbed my camera and ran to the shoreline to take a few snaps, there was even a rainbow. Hayley is on a bit on a health kick at the moment and really [...]

Welcome to the skies

Knowing we had a bed for the next few nights took the pressure off a bit and we headed to Fox Glacier for today’s main activity, Sky Diving. We had always wanted to do a skydive over Dubai but on further reading apparently the conditions there are generally not the best (too much sand). But upon doing some research we came across Fox Glacier apparently the second best Sky Dive in the world thanks [...]

Flower power

As predicted we spent the whole of yesterday in bed. Neither of us felt up to leaving the hotel and we could barely touch a thing at breakfast (if you know us, you’ll know this is rare!). We were gutted as there is so much we want to see in Singapore and we’ve basically wasted our first two days. We still weren’t 100% this morning but we forced ourselves out to visit the famous Botanical Gardens. [...]
